Check Your Filter
It’s important to make sure that your filter is not clogged. If it’s been more than three months since you’ve replaced or cleaned your filter it’s time to do so.
Why? A clogged filter will make is extremely difficult for the air to pass which in return increases your energy usage and your bills!
Check The Water Pan
Make sure your AC pan beneath your unit is draining properly.
Why? It could lead to water damage which will lead to hefty repair costs.
Check The Airflow
Make sure that there are no plants, debris, or objects obstructing airflow to your air conditioner. There should be at least two feet of clear space around your AC unit.
Why? If anything clogs your unit it will make your air conditioner run less efficiently.
Check Your Ductwork
It’s important to make sure that you have no mold growing in your duct work. Since moisture collects there it can accumulate and produce mold.
Why is this important to check? A clean duct work system not only will make your AC system run more efficiently but mold can be dangerous to breath and should be remediated immediately.
Clear Your Air Vents:
Check your home to make sure that there is nothing obstructing your air vent.
Why? Any sort of blockage, even if it’s a couch, will throw off circulation and require more energy to draw in air and blow it out.
